A Cure for Anxiety: My Illustrative Evolution by Blanco J.

This is one of my earliest drawings that i had documented as a child, I still vividly remember back then that it made me so proud that I had to share it with the world by making a facebook post, captioned with broken english and filled with emojis.

From there on, my passion in drawing grew ever stronger, and encouraged me in partaking in drawing contests in school, and drawing as my hobby to past the time. Though as time passed, my passion for the arts slowly died as I grew up and passed through elementary and the pandemic.

I took a long break from the pen, and I thought that would lead to me losing the skills I honed throughout the years.

Then the opposite happened. The preconceived idea i had that i lost the ability to draw, was proven wrong when i tried to draw again on a whim when i was in junior highschool. Suddenly i was able to illustrate what i could see in a level beyond what i was able to back then.

I got hooked, and wanted to get better, in the span of 2 months i learned the basics of human anatomy. My passion for drawing reignited from the joy of seeing my progress in real time.

I felt very ecstatic making illustrations on paper, seeing it add into a collection overtime
I was happy to share my progress to my friends. They were very supportive and even encouraged me in adapting a new medium, which was digital painting.

It was hard adjusting at first, but a week of learning how it worked, I got comfortable with working on digital and had a significant improvement with illustrating art works.

as i drew more in digital, i had more experience and was able to use the skills in projects for school, the following are some of my project highlights.

This cover is by far my proudest and best work i have done.
