Raging With Passion: A Journey of Finding Passion

Ever since I could, I wanted to try different things. So my journey in exploring hobbies began. I got a junior-sized acoustic guitar when I was 7 years old. I tried it for a bit, but I eventually lost interest, so it sat in the corner of my room, dusted. During these times, I was exposed to dancers, and I was amazed and wanted to try it. It didn’t last that long because it was hard. But up to this day, I still find myself moving to the beat of a song. Thanks to Livelihood subjects in school, I developed an interest in baking. So for a few months I thought it would be the start of a newfound hobby for me. But like always, I eventually got tired of it after reaching a point where my parents even got me a mixer for batter. Then for a few weeks during the pandemic, I picked up my guitar once again because I was bored. I didn’t play consistently, but I got good enough to learn the basics and even some songs. This eventually led me to learning how to make music, but it wasn’t a deep interest, so it fled too. When the pandemic ended, I had less time to practice music. Then I realized I never really had a sport, so I thought volleyball would be a good fit since it looked fun. I would join volleyball games during the intramural or when friends would invite me to play. During the grade 11 summer break, I even got enrolled in a summer clinic where it taught me more volleyball skills. But because of the lack of time and friends to play with, I barely get to practice it on a daily basis. Between these times I get a spark of wanting to sing my favorite songs. When I’m alone, I sing my heart out as if I’m the artist who wrote the songs. But I never really was confident about it until recently. I never got any help with my singing, so I'm still training myself to be good enough to have an audience. But for now I’ll stick to singing in the showers or in karaoke with friends.

Throughout all of this, I had one main interest that I would always go back to when I needed a break, It was gaming. When I have time, I would always boot up my computer and launch whatever game I'm interested in at the moment. If it’s popular, then I’ve probably played it. Because of my experience in handling computers, I dove into learning programming languages like Java or Python. Although I don’t see it as a hobby but more of an opportunity for my future. A place where I get rich and live happily doing something fun and interesting.
